Atelier Wonderland reflects Hayon’s fluidity in artistic expression, merging his passion for traditional crafts with the continuous exploration of new forms – a symbol of his belief in art as an ever-evolving dialogue. In this exhibition, Jaime Hayon privileges meticulous craftsmanship and bold artistic expression, displaying an array of Mediterranean-inspired vases and chandeliers adorned with expressive faces and oversized handles alongside carefully crafted Organism walnut wood tables that resonates with Hayon’s signatures curves. Each ceramic, carefully hand-painted by Hayon, illustrates his multidisciplinary approach, transcending the conventional boundaries of art and design.

The exhibition will also include a series of handcrafted Murano mirrors with intricate shapes, engravings, and embellishments, reflecting Hayon’s dedication to exceptional craftsmanship. Heavily involved in the intricate production process, Hayon has worked alongside master Venetian craftsmen to create a selection of precious and playful pieces, assembling and adding details by hand for each unique piece. Celebrating a centuries- old artisanal heritage, these mirrors are the reflection of his fascination for historical techniques, and his ambition to push these traditions into new territories.

A series of recent large-scale paintings will also be on display alongside his original design collection, as a nod to the intertextuality of Hayon’s artistic practice.

Atelier Wonderland will be held at Galerie kreo in Paris from April 26, 2024, until the end of July.
