Gérard Guermonprez

Gérard Guermonprez, a French designer of the 20th century, is renowned for his simple and functional wooden furniture, known for their durability. Trained at the Boulle School in Paris, he exhibited his creations at the Salon des arts ménagers for over twenty years starting from 1954. In 1955, his series of light oak furniture with black lacquered metal legs garnered significant attention. From 1957 onwards, he began a fruitful collaboration with the Magnani cabinetmaking workshop, designing a diverse range of interior furniture: sideboards, tables, chairs, and multifunctional storage units...
