Description
The New Lebanon Bishopric ladder is a ladder from the Mount Lebanon Shaker Society - an American Protestant community born in the 18th century in New Lebanon, New York, from the Quakers, and probably the most influential of the American Shaker communities.
Their rigorous convictions led them to develop their own style of furniture, stripped of all decorative additions, prefiguring minimalism in design.
