The Correspondences series, initiated by 7L, brings together friends of the library to revive the spirit of the 18th-century salon—a tradition of thoughtful conversation cherished by Karl Lagerfeld, its former founder and owner.
Housed within 7L, a legendary space containing Lagerfeld’s collection of over 30,000 books, these gatherings offer a unique opportunity to explore personal journeys through literature. Each month, a guest is invited to share the books that have shaped their life and work. Set within the grand library, where natural light filters through a spectacular glass ceiling, these conversations unfold in an atmosphere that feels both intimate and luminous.
For the fourth Salon of the season, Clémence and Didier Krzentowski, co-founders of Galerie kreo, joined Coralie Gauthier, Director of Programs at 7L, to reflect on themes of collecting, the importance of taking time, and the evolution of their gallery, which was initially conceived as an agency in the 1990s.
Amid a warm and convivial gathering of artists, collectors, and friends, Clémence and Didier shared stories from their journey and the books that have guided them along the way. They also spoke of the monographs and photographic works that continue to inspire their vision of design, art, and photography.
Heartfelt thanks to Coralie Gauthier and Laurence Delamare for their gracious invitation, and to Clément Dirié for his thoughtful participation and his always precise and invaluable contributions to Galerie kreo’s publications.
