The upcoming exhibition at Galerie kreo ‘Contrast Control’ proposes a visual game with pieces which greatly differ in sizes. Placing the large and small to- gether gives us another reading of the purpose of the designer, and brings a new perspective on the pieces. We will show for the first time the ‘Crescendo’ dining table by Pierre Charpin, the ‘Niebla’ coffee and dining table by Hella Jongerius, as well as, the ‘Grand Central’ floor light by Joschua Brunn.
Crescendo collection by Pierre Charpin
Two tables, a dining table and a coffee table, are covered with mosaics. Colored circles of increasing diameter are drawn on the «Crescendo» table tops. The mo- saics are meticulously placed by hand in order to respect and mirror the designer’s original drawing.
Niebla collection by Hella Jongerius
A lacquered colored cloud is laid on the table’s wooden top until it gradually va- nishes. Hella Jongerius thinks of a new way to use color, with a dining table and a coffee table, inspired by the pure forms found in refectories.
Central collection by Joschua Brunn
One system for two lamps, a table light and a reading light: a marble cylinder, a removable metal arm with LED are composing « Petit » and « Grand» Central by Joschua Brunn.
These two pieces are the very first to be created for the Galerie kreo.
Cellae collection by François Bauchet
François Bauchet is presenting a brand new piece from the Cellae collection shown for the first time at the galler y in 2013. The table is made of technical felt and resin. It received a special treatment which allows it to be placed outside. The meaning of the «cell» system imagined by François Bauchet is encapsulated, in it’s smallest version, by the side table, and in it’s largest version, by the dining table, measuring more than 3 metres long.
