Biography
Jacques Biny is an interior designer, lighting designer and founder of the Luminalite publishing house since 1953. He has edited models by Jean-Boris Lacroix, Louis Baillon and Michel Buffet. “It is thanks to light that we perceive what is visible. That is to say the importance of the light in the life of the human being subjected to a constant modification of light in his environment. He has to live, during the day with sunlight and at night with artificial light illuminating the darkness (…) Light should not be considered as a secondary factor, but as an important element of the habitat” (extract from the Luminalite catalog).
