Muller Van Severen:
Ten years of collaboration
To celebrate their ten years of collaboration, the Design Museum Gent is dedicating a major exhibition to the Belgian design duo Muller Van Severen.
The entire ground floor of the museum will be dedicated to showcasing the works of Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen, displayed alongside design pieces from different periods ranging from 1150 to present day.
In celebration of their return to their hometown, the designers have fostered a compelling dialogue between various collections, movements, styles, and periods, showcasing their ability to seamlessly blend past and present.
The exhibition explores the significant moments and connections that have shaped the duo's oeuvre. Each salon represents a pivotal point in their artistic journey, demonstrating how chance encounters can inspire new creations and projects.
The memories and collections from these moments are recounted by ten individuals who played important roles in the development of their oeuvre: Jan Hoet Junior, Delphine Bekaert, Veerle Wenes, Lowie Vermeersch, Clémence and Didier Krzentowski, James Mair, Andreas Murkudis, Massimo de Carlo, Kersten Geers, David Van Severen, and Mette and Rolf Hay.
